Scott Studio

This Studio is a weekend artists retreat for Keith and Judy Scott of Vancouver, BC. It is located in an area of pristine forest on a flood plain outside of Squamish, BC. The studio, with its retractable glass wall, offers an intimate connection to the surrounding landscape. The intricate copper-clad wood roof, which floats above a large deck, creates a level of detail that reflects the adjacent tree forms. The ancillary spaces are located in protective, circular volumes and contrast with the rectangular studio. We feel that the interaction of forms and levels of transparency, augmented by the ever-changing natural surroundings, will create an environment conducive to artistic inspiration.
