Night Owl

An owner-built 1,000 square foot residence for Martyn and Marianne Bridgeman.

The exterior walls are concrete block cavity wall construction wherein the cavities are filled with insulation. The walls are left in their natural state, which means they will be able to breathe.

The floors and ceilings are tongue and groove decking, again left in their natural and breathable state.

The roof is a double roof, in that the rain shedding metal roof is separated from the insulated roof by a circulating air space, providing much needed cooling in the hot Okanagan sun.

An efficient wood stove coupled with a circulating warm air system provides the heating.
